99.9 Live FM’s Operation Christmas Child is now underway.

Together with Christian aid organisation, Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child provides an opportunity for listeners to pack a shoe box with essential items and suitable toys for distribution to children suffering from the effects of war, natural disaster, poverty or neglect.

Operation Christmas Child sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and Christian literature.

This program provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project that reaches out to suffering children while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ, God's greatest gift.

In 2009, Samaritan's Purse teams from Australia and New Zealand delivered over 300,000 gift-filled shoe boxes to South East Asia and the South Pacific. Globally, Samaritan’s Purse distributed an estimated 7.6 million shoe boxes to children in 105 countries.

As each shoe box gift is delivered, it is treasured by the child that receives it, and is a lasting reminder that he or she is precious to God.
